About Massachusetts Driver’s License
In Massachusetts, you are required to update the address on your driver’s license within 30 days of a move. The Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) keeps your residential and mailing addresses on file in order to comply with state laws and send notices regarding your license and registration.
You can update your address either online or by phone. After notifying the RMV, you may choose to order a revised license with your new address. Alternately, you can update your current document by writing your address in the designated area on the back of the card.
Did you know? If you fail to update your address with the RMV, your driver’s license or learner’s permit is subject to suspension or revocation.
